National Skin Cancer Action Week 2024 Resources
Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world, with approximately two in three Aussies diagnosed during their lifetime. Each year, Cancer Council Australia dedicates one week, National Skin Cancer Action Week, to encourage all Australians to be SunSmart and reduce their risk of developing skin cancer. This year, the campaign will run from Sunday 17 November to Saturday 23rd November 2024.
To support your club in promoting National Skin Cancer Action Week, we have developed a Campaign Toolkit to outline what resources are available and how you can bring this week to life in your clubs. Get involved by following the toolkit and sharing the resources below in your club to further show your commitment to protecting your members from the sun.

Sun Safety Policy
Outdoor workers, such as green keepers receive up to 10 times more UV exposure per year than indoor workers, putting them at greater risk of skin cancer.
Workplaces can protect their workers from UV exposure by putting in place a comprehensive sun protection approach, which includes a policy, training, and provision of information, role modelling and Personal Protective Equipment.
Our sun safety policy for golf clubs provides a range of sun safety control measures that your club can implement to reduce workers exposure to UV. This policy is intended as a guide only. We recommend using aspects to tailor a policy to suit the needs and practicalities of your club.
Interested in learning more about how you can better protect your grounds staff from UV? Visit our webpage dedicated to outdoor worker sun safety.
