Cancer Connect Volunteering
Have you recovered physically and emotionally from your own cancer experience and treatment?
Would you like to support other people newly diagnosed with cancer?
Cancer Connect is one to one telephone peer support for people experiencing a newly diagnosed cancer, undertaking treatment or encountering survivorship issues.
Watch the video below to learn more about the Cancer Connect service (duration 2 minutes 40 seconds).
Cancer Connect peer support is provided by a volunteer who is:
- recovered from a similar cancer experience
- specially trained to provide telephone peer support
- supported by Cancer Connect health professionals
I’m enjoying my experience as a volunteer and find it very satisfying. My thanks to you for the excellent training provided.
Our Cancer Connect peer support volunteers listen to others with a unique understanding, sharing their experiences and ways of coping. They can provide practical information and emotional support to meet the individual needs of someone experiencing newly diagnosed cancer.
