Emergency financial assistance

Cancer Council NSW provides direct emergency financial assistance to people affected by cancer and financial disadvantage. Assistance is provided in the form of bill payments for a range of eligible household expenses that don’t stop during treatment, emergency food and fuel vouchers for transport to treatment. Assistance is available only once and is limited to $350. Patients are assessed by Oncology and other Social Workers based in hospitals and cancer treatment centres across NSW. Cancer Council NSW collaborates with Social Workers across NSW to make sure that assistance is delivered only to people who have no other financial options.

We can also connect you with  financial planners and financial counsellorssmall business accountants, human resources advisors and lawyers if you need assistance.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am -5pm
A Translator service is available for languages other than English – call 13 14 50.

Or speak to a social worker at your treatment centre and they can refer you.
