Knit one, purl one for Cancer Council

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea 2013 Ambassador and best-selling author Loani Prior, designed this fabulous daffodil tea cosy just for Cancer Council. She has generously shared the pattern with us.

The tea cosy has given more than warm tea. Loani says, “That year I had one lovely woman write to say that she was in treatment herself and had never done any fund raising before, but that she made the cosy to raffle and had a morning tea and raised $1200 from family and friends. She was so chuffed.  

She has since come to a number of workshops with me and is now test knitting for a new book of mine and the prognosis for her health is excellent. Diane. I am honoured to know her.”

“Annie’s Books here on the Sunshine Coast does an annual Biggest Morning Tea and in 2013, with the help of a real estate auctioneer, we auctioned 6 original cosies from my books. We raised more than $4,000 for Cancer Council.

People are incredibly generous. It was a spectacularly fun day. I would love to see the cosy everywhere.”

We think it’s a great fundraising idea too.
