Volunteer Vince Sorrenti shares his POSH story

Vince’s Passion for POSH 

We can’t wait for this year’s POSH Gala Ball, which is coming up on Saturday 6 May 2023. POSH is the biggest event in the Cancer Council NSW calendar. Over 23 years, our generous guests and sponsors have raised over $21m to tackle cancer. 

Besides the POSH Committee, guests and sponsors, none of this could have been possible without the support of Vince Sorrenti. Vince is one of Australia’s most popular comics, and has been entertaining crowds at events for past 2 decades. Since the year 2000, he has generously volunteered his time as the Master of Ceremonies at POSH.   

We’re excited to announce that Vince will be returning once again in 2023, gracing the podium once again with his quick wit and sparkling sense of humour.   

What makes POSH special for Vince 

Like many members of the Cancer Council community, Vince has a personal connection to cancer and feels strongly about creating a cancer free future. This has motivated him to continue volunteering as MC over the years. 

POSH is a black-tie affair, featuring a sumptuous three-course dinner and live music. Vince has the hard job of entertaining at lots of events across the corporate, charity and sporting worlds. But in his opinion, POSH stands out: “I believe POSH is the most prestigious, high profile, most glamorous charity event. Best gala ball in this country”.  

Vince’s approach is to not only entertain and run proceedings, but to educate as well. In his role as MC of POSH, he often interviews leading cancer researchers on stage and raises awareness about cancer prevention and screening.
