Cancer Council NSW supports the best ideas and the best people in cancer research. Thanks to your support, we are able to fund more than 50 projects at any one time. In 2022, we awarded $5.3 million in new funding to 12 ground breaking cancer research projects paving the way for new ways to treat the disease. Read about these projects below.
Monitoring for early signs of treatment resistance in breast cancer
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Australian women and the second most common cancer to cause death, after lung cancer.
Associate Professor Yuling Wang and her team will develop a test to monitor treatment response and watch for the early signs of treatment failure.
